VTEC COVID-19 Plan

Students

Following current recommendations from the Maine CDC and Department of Education for all schools to reduce person-to-person contact, starting Monday, March 16th, 2020 we will be transitioning all our classes to be delivered remotely as Virtual Instructor-Led classes. If a student is unable to attend a class remotely for any reason, please contact us so we can re-schedule the class for a later date. If a student prefers in-person Instructor-Led classes, we encourage that student to take the class remotely and then schedule their free retake for later in the year.

If VTEC temporarily closes our training center staff office, students will be able to reach us by email at learn@vtec.org and will work on making arrangements to be reachable by phone.

Test Takers

Our testing center is still currently open, but we ask that any tester who feels sick to please stay home and reach out to the testing provider to reschedule your exam. You may call VTEC to verify we are still administering exams, but please do not call our testing center to request your exam be rescheduled. VTEC does not handle exam scheduling or rescheduling.

Upon arrival you will be asked to acknowledge that you have not been in contact with any persons who has, and are not exhibiting, any flu-like symptoms. Testers will be allowed to wear disposable gloves during testing, which will be inspected both before and after the exam. The gloves need to be disposed of in front of the proctor upon completion of the exam. VTEC will not be providing any testers with disposable gloves.

Test providers ask that any tester who is feeling unwell to please reschedule 24-hours in advance whenever possible. If you arrive exhibiting flu-like symptoms such as fever or respiratory difficulty you will be asked to reschedule your exam for a later date.

If VTEC closes our testing center, you will receive notification from the testing provider regarding the cancellation of your exam and instructions on how to reschedule.

We will post any updates for our Emergency Operations Plan to our FaceBook Page and our website.
