Following current guidance from the Maine CDC for business who offer services to the public, VTEC will not require vaccinated individuals to wear face coverings while inside our facility as of May 24, 2021. We are expecting individuals to follow the honor system. If an individual is not vaccinated and enters our facility, that individual does so at their own risk. For those who would be more comfortable taking a class from home, VTEC, as always, offers virtual instructor-led (VILT) classes as a remote option.
Click here to see a list of our VILT class options.
Although a greater percentage of Mainers have been vaccinated, we are still asking any student who does not feel well or may have been in contact with someone who has experienced symptoms of COVID-19, to please stay home and reschedule your class or plan to attend remotely. While at our facility please remember to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds after using the restroom and take advantage of the ample supply of hand sanitizer we have located throughout the building.
Our testing center is currently open, but we ask that any tester who feels sick to please stay home and reach out to their testing provider to reschedule their exam. You may call VTEC to verify we are administering exams, but please do not call our testing center to request your exam be rescheduled. Unfortunately, VTEC cannot handle exam scheduling or rescheduling.
As of May 24, 2021, If you have been vaccinated you will not be required to wear a face covering and we will not longer seat testers 6 feet apart, as the Maine CDC is removing social distancing requirements from its guidance. If you would like to sit more distanced from other testers please let the test administrator know and we will try to accommodate your preference.
Test providers ask that any tester who is feeling unwell to please reschedule 24-hours in advance whenever possible. If you arrive exhibiting flu-like symptoms such as fever or respiratory difficulty you will be asked to reschedule your exam for a later date.
If VTEC closes our testing center, you will receive notification from the testing provider regarding the cancellation of your exam and instructions on how to reschedule.
We will post any updates for our Emergency Operations Plan to our FaceBook Page and here on our website.
We are excited to now offer IdentiGo Finger Printing services. We ask that all finger printers stay home if feeling unwell, or have been in contact with anyone who may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus. Finger printers will not be required to wear face coverings if fully vaccinated, as per Maine CDC guidance. Upon arriving at VTEC please check in at the front desk. If you choose to take the stairs, you will enter VTEC in our hall way and must turn left past the bathrooms and the kitchen area to find the front-desk. The elevator deposits you directly to the front desk.
